Ahead of the transfer window it seems that Niclas Fullkrug, his agent and player-friendly media sources are doing their utmost to bring about the German’s departure from West Ham.
Just weeks ago, Fülle’s agent Thorsten Wirth publicly admitted that his client’s move to West Ham United “didn’t work out” and that it “might make sense to make a change“.
Now it seems the ‘free Fullkrug’ campaign has shifted gear with Fabrizio Romano claiming that, as Gonzo wrote earlier, “Fullkrug is set to leave”in January.
Not true. In fact, the ‘imminent transfer suggestions’ made by Fabrizio Romano are plain incorrect: A transfer is nowhere near as advanced as the ITK claims.
According to our high ranking West Ham source:
‘There have been no offers yet‘
For any sale of Niclas Fullkrug.
Indeed, even just for a loan move, Fullkrug is going to have to take something in the region of a 30% pay cut since West Ham have no intention of subsidising his move back to the Bundesliga – or anywhere else.
Whilst Fabrizio Romano may be full of suggestions that “Niclas Füllkrug, set to leave West Ham in January as his chapter at the club is over. Talks have started with German clubs …” West Ham United were at pains to point out that there have been no discussions at club level with another team. Nada. Zero. Null.
The inference is clear: Fullkrug signed a four year contract in the summer of 2024 and until and unless another club comes up with an acceptable amount of cash to buy or loan him – without West Ham being the fall-guys and taking the financial hit yet again for a want-away player – he’s going nowhere come January.
The quote from Niclas Füllkrug is:
“I’m not really the big city type … I’ve always lived in the countryside. That’s where I want to live. I don’t necessarily belong in the city. I need to see trees and nature around me.”
