Breaking News: West Ham Kudus reports are nonsense

‘Mohammed Kudus is 100% staying at West Ham.’ Those are the precise words spoken directly to Claret & Hugh late last night when we asked about the most recent round of transfer rumours surrounding the Hammers winger.

Understandably, the club was somewhat puzzled as to why the rumour had resurfaced so quickly and were at pains to point out that nothing had changed from when we asked the same question a matter of days ago.

Speculation began circulating yesterday that West Ham would be forced to sell Kudus in order to fund the summer transfer spend. Liverpool were reported as being in dialogue with the Hammers over the sale of the Ghanaian winger for £85m.

Kudus was reported as wanting to move to Liverpool to re-join his former Ajax and West Ham coach John Heitinga. The speculation seems to centre around a historical quote attributed to Kudus, where he said: “I felt very good under Heitinga. He is the best trainer I have had at Ajax.”

However, C&H have been informed that Kudus is looking forward to working under Lopetegui, of whom he spoke highly in the last few days: “His style is how I want to play, how I want to attack as a winger, and there is a lot of freedom, which allows me to do that.”

Hopefully, that puts an end to it, but I somehow doubt it. For the record, as far as the club is concerned, Kudus is happy and staying at West Ham. Any bid would be rejected, and any club attempting to offer the former buyout clause amount of £85m would be completely out of luck.

Let’s enjoy one last season before Kudus gets his move to Liverpool or Man City!

Signing players like Alvarez & Kudus is how we need to operate in the days of PSR. Brighton are the role models and blue print on how to buy cheap & sell big.

When we are established in Europe and the top 6 in England we can then look at retaining top talent. Then and only then will our aspirations of top 4 not look like a dream.

If J-Lo can achieve European football in his first season after inheriting the oldest squad and need for a complete overhaul I’d be amazed.

2nd season is more realistic as it will take at least 3 transfer windows to clear dead wood & rebuild.

In Tim we trust if Sully backs him 100% and doesn’t interfere with what is required to make us the club we want to be.
