West Ham training ground staff are hopeful that Lukasz Fabianski will be fit for for the game against Manchester City at the weekend.
Rumours have been persisting all week that last season’s Hammer of the Year is likely to be ruled out on the back of a groin niggle but Claret and Hugh has learned that such talk is premature as the Polish international only got down to serious work today (Wed).
A decision is likely to be taken on Friday after the manager and staff have taken a close look at how he reacts to training routines.
We were told by a senior source on e mail that the keeper has done very little this week and only started catching and diving today.
But hopes are certainly rising because after a scan earlier in the week, there was no certainty at all about his involvement, whilst earlier today we were told: “Hopefully he will make it but Friday id probably going to be decision day.”
We’ll get smashed either way. Let Roberto take the hit and give Fab an extra week to be sure he’s over the injury.

Don’t all be so negative. The beauty of Premier League football is that all teams are there for the taking. That includes the likes of the giants from the north west.
