Fan fever thrills AC

Don’t ever underestimate the power of the Hammers fans – that’s the message from inside the Hammers dressing room.

With more buoyancy around the club than we’ve felt in many months the fans are letting off their feeling inside the stadium perhaps more than ever before.

Those three wins may have been expected but we are Hammers and know that things never work out s we expect.

But this time there’s some real feeling behind us that we could at last be on the brink of something very big and the supporters are letting it be known.

And Andy Carroll – who made his first real appearance for the club this season on Saturday with a second half sub appearance felt the full force of the fan ‘fever’ which is currently gripping the club.

From start to finish – even during a first half which left us all a little worried – the roar never ceased and AC has left it be known how much it was appreciated.

He said: “The fans were brilliant for us in Saturday’s win against Crystal Palace. That’s what the lads love, and that’s what they like to hear. It was great on Saturday.

“Throughout the game they were fantastic, even when we went 1-0 down. When we came out for the second half there was a big roar straight away and it showed that the fans were right behind the lads.

“It’s a big boost for us and hearing that is massive.”

  1. Speaking as an American who has never been to a professional soccer match, all I can do is relate it back to other sports and other situations. It has long been my experience that “nothing succeeds like success,” and if a team is playing well and winning, then the external stuff quiets down, and the fan support starts going up and up. Keep winning matches, and the West Ham faithful in LS will keep being loud and supportive. “Just win, baby!”
