West Ham United travel to the east of Germany today for a final friendly pre-season fixture ahead of the season opener at London Stadium next weekend. FC Magdeburg are the opponents and Hammers supporters will be looking for tell tale signs of the head coach’s thinking with the starting line-up likely to be close to the XI likely to start in two weeks time.
As several Internationals return to the squad after their summer endeavours, but West Ham have no new recruits to integrate as yet, likely the side will mirror quite closely the eleven who started last weekend against Rangers in the 0 – 0 draw.
12.30 pm and Nuno Espírito Santo has named his side to start in an hour’s time and here it is, with a major surprise in the inclusion of Lewis Orford in the starting line up!

Is Uno seeing something that nobody else is? Pablo is awful. He is like Bambi on ice always falling over, and his second touch is a tackle. If the bookies offered me odds of him not scoring a single goal all season, I would bite their hand off. Why is he getting pre season minutes over the youngsters. If he and Lamadrid is our way out of the championship, we are in real trouble.
As a German West Ham supporter ,who hasn`t yet overcome relegation, this is terrible news. When they appointed Nuno as manager, I knew, it would be a failure. And I feel, I will be right, unfortunately.
The Board should get rid of Nuno ! If he stays, West Ham will have nothing to do with promotion next spring.

I have to agree with Frank here. I am just waiting for that bewildered Nuno look, you know it, the deer in the headlights look that was his hallmark last spring. Again, putting out 10 men against a full team, why?
