Former Hammer Anton Ferdinand has backed Said Benrahma to do well at West Ham saying he can’t wait to see what he can do in a claret and blue.

Ferdinand  told the 25-year-old, whom he has watched at Brentford, to work hard and excite the fans – tipping him for success as a Hammer.

Anton told his 289,000 followers on Twitter “Can’t wait to see this guy in the famous claret and blue strip good luck Said Benrahma, work hard and excite the fans like I’ve watched you do for Brentford and you will be a success at this massive football club”

Benrahma signed for West Ham on the domestic deadline day on a season long loan for £4m with a £21m obligation to buy at the end of season if certain criteria is met.

The Algerian was pictured at Rush Green on Monday as he joined in with first team training for the first time. He will eligible for inclusion in the match day squad against Manchester City on Saturday.

One source on the backroom team made it clear that he was very likely to be involved in the match day squad.
