Forward still on the rader… along with Scamacca

Ben Brereton Diaz remains firmly on West Ham’s radar.

The Blackburn striker has been pegged as a target for boss David Moyes throughout the summer window.

It seemed to take a back seat amid talks over Chelsea’s Armando Broja and then Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca.

Scamacca is poised to become a West Ham player but that deal is not going to kill off a move for the Chile international.

Brereton Diaz was in sensational form last season and scored 22 goals in total.

A key attraction for Moyes is the fact that the 23-year-old can play as a centre-forward but also as a winger, meaning that he could occupy the squad slot that was previously taken up by Andriy Yarmolenko.

Brereton Diaz’s manager, Jon Dahl Tomasson, has confirmed that the player could leave the club this summer, because of the Premier League interest.

The Irons could shift their focus to Brereton Diaz after securing the signing of Scamacca; that deal should be confirmed imminently.

  1. One thing is for sure, another striker is necessary for so many reasons… injury, loss of form and the potential number of games along with being involved in European competition.

  2. I have a sneaky feeling we might still get Broja , it’s just one of those feelings no substance to it !

  3. Boehly invited the chairmen GS & K to an informal meal this evening, seems like he has met a few other chairmen but will be interesting to see if Broja and some others are offered on loan or permanently as transfers…

  4. Scamacca or Scammaca as the official video showed it, is now done, time to get Onana and some others done, am intrigued by Ex’s claim of two loan deals for players at big clubs that want to kickstart their careers, could be a good time to get them as they will potentially want to get in frame for the World Cup COYI !!!

  5. I think we should Sign Diaz because he has played left wing, right wing, and upfront in his past. This makes him a great utility signing. Don’t forget we’ve lost Yarmolenko. Diaz could be cover for Bowen right wing and Antonio left wing or Scammaca upfront.
