No sooner have the Mateus Fernandes transfer negotiations been concluded than claims are made that West Ham have a Championship – level winger lined up ready to replace Crysencio Summerville if, or more probably ‘when’, a sale for the Dutch winger is negotiated.
The end of the Netherlands’ World Cup campaign has seen a marked rise in reports over clubs interested in Summerville, now including Liverpool, Manchester United and AC Roma.
Correspondingly, West Ham have been linked with another Dutch winger to replace Summerville – according to Netherlands’ news source soccernews.nl, who write that West Ham have been casting their eye over 25 year-old former Sheffield Wednesday winger Anthony Musaba.
As their report states:
“Musaba can move from Fenerbahçe to Championship or Premier League ..
This way we know that Musaba is doing well at various English clubs. Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United and Hull City are interested in the left winger, who can also get out in other positions in attack. Wolves and West Ham were relegated last season, while Hull City was just promoted to the Premier League.”
After paying 5 million Euros for his services, the Turkish side will no doubt want to turn a profit after his 8 goals and 10 assists: In fact, you’d wonder why they would part with him at all just six months into a contract which lasts until 2030.

Musaba from his Sheffield Wednesday days
Simply because he’s Dutch and he mirrors Summerville’s inverted right footed, left winger West Ham position, it seems only natural that parallels would be drawn: However, deeper digging shows reports all over the internet linking the ex Sheffield Wednesday winger with a return to England so there might just be more to it.
One to keep an eye on as the Summerville story develops.
