Fry gives Rice lowdown after Chelsea hammering

|

Barry Fry’s Peterborough were hammered 6-1 by Chelsea at the weekend!

But more importantly the Posh director of football learned a few things about Declan Rice and the truth or otherwise behind the rumours concerning Declan Rice.

And speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh he was ready to make it clear where our prize asset will be when the new season opens.

Having worked for, and been sacked by GSB, whilst at Birmingham he is probably in a better position to judge their likely reaction to any interest in the young Hammers superstar.

And he told us a little earlier: There is no doubt that Chelsea, Man U and Man City plus many other clubs would love to sign him but it’s really not going to happen.

“I know David Sullivan and David Gold very well indeed and there is no way, having seen the club go to a different level last season they, will let him go anywhere.

“They didn’t sign him to a long contract to let him go midway through it and having qualified for the Europa League they know where the club could be headed under Declan’s captaincy.

“They are obviously looking to  become a big club so there is no way I see them letting Declan go at this stage.”
