Last night’s home fixture against Liverpool provided a tough test for the u21’s side which has been, out of necessity, denuded of much of its better-known talent as players graduated to the seniors or away from the club in the Summer.
Latest to leave were influential midfielder Preston Fearon – who has now gone out on a short term loan to Forest Green, along with influential right back Ryan Battrum who has headed to Southend on a short loan.

Big mistake sending Josh Landers on season long loan to Ayr United. What is he going to learn sitting on the bench for a side roughly equivalent to National League standard who are already looking like relegation candidates with a manager who no doubt persuaded us he would get regular game time, but now seems paralysed by the poor state of his squad.
Lamadrid is a waste of a first team squad place that would have been better utilised by Landers who has been a prolific scorer for the Development Team and has already played a couple of times in the SPL.

Fun to see Noble’s son is a midfielder in the U18s – guess it is common knowledge. Anyhow, best let the lad do his thing, but fun to see it happening – looks like his Dad though.
