Haksabanovic catches eye …Reid back for Kiwis

On loan Hammer Sead Haksabanovich – despite being part of the Montenegro team which took a right hammering against England last night – certainly caught the eye at times during the Wembley clash.

The No 17 – currently back at Rush Green following the closure of his season in Sweden with IFK Norrköping- produced some very direct and pacy moments in the  hammering.

And he provided a fine assist from a free kick which almost gave the visitors a first half goal from a fine header superbly saved by Jordan Pickford.

A little later he tried to follow up on a shot which rebounded from the England keeper but couldn’t adjust his body shape and the chance went begging.

However, he was always get to get forward at pace when the Montenegro side broke out of their own half and he certainly looked quicker and more direct than various members of the Hammers midfield of late.

He always looked comfortable making some neat and clever passes  Manuel Pellegrini looked on no doubt but was subbed in the 68th minute after suffering a minor eye injury.

Meanwhile Winston Reid made a major step down his recovery road when he started for New Zealand against the Republic of Ireland last night.

He completed the first half before being subbed at the interval.
