Hammer Antonio gets big time mocking

|

Michail Antonio went missing  from the BBC’s Footballers Football Show this week after a dismal showing at Anfield following his prediction we would finish above the merseysiders this season.

And his colleague on the show, Newcastle’s Callum Wilson, seriously took the mickey out of our number 9 as a result,

Mikey had called the game a six pointer last Sunday before making the big forecast of the Hammers finishing above the Reds but produced a sub standard showing himself and was eventually subbed.

Wilson, who had mocked him at the time  was in no mood but to pile more pressure on him as a result of him failing to show up for the latest show.

He asked: ‘Where’s Michail? Has he run away after his shambles of a performance?’

He added: ‘If he’d have said that statement and [West Ham] had gone and beat Liverpool, Michail would be sitting here tonight under any circumstances.

‘The fact he made that prediction, had no goals, no assists or shots on target, no aerial duels won, lost the ball 10 times, played 75 minutes before being dragged, for me personally I wouldn’t show my face either!’

‘I’m backing myself over Liverpool. You know what, I think we are going to finish higher than Liverpool this season. I’m putting it out there,’ the forward said.

‘I watched the game [Wolves vs Liverpool] because it was before our game and Wolves could have run away with it!

‘They had quite a few opportunities. We’ve got them this weekend and it’s a six-pointer. We’ve got them!’

In response, Wilson said: ‘Michail, wake up. I think he’s having one of those dreams again.’

Wilson was obviously enjoying himself taking Mick apart but he needs to remembers that such statements provide the media coverage which makes  the show in which he is involved as popular.

Mike is ending his career as a player and one as a pundit beckons and ne clearly knows what he is doing.
