West Ham are reportedly set to hold talks with Besiktas president Fikret Orman in London, with the Turkish club keen to secure the signing of out-of-favour forward Javier Hernandez on loan for the remainder of the season.
According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Besiktas could offer Hernandez a way out, as they are prepared to fly representatives to London in December to finalise a deal.
Turkish reports Besiktas’ initial discussions with West Ham over a deal for Javier Hernandez went positively. The Turkish club are claimed to have offered to take him on loan for the rest of the season for a £1m fee.
Claret and Hugh view: We will of course be checking this out but reports from Turkey on West Ham players being on their way to that League do not have a great track record. During Bilic’s time at the club the ‘papers were full of such tales every other day with only Gokhan Tore returning there after a really poor period at the Hammers followed by injury. Hernandez has been unfortunate with his move to the club. Bilic couldn’t find his correct role, followed by David Moyes who had the same problem with him having shifted him out at Man U. This season he has missed a pre-season and suffered a serious viral problem which has set him back. But very slowly there are signs we may see something form him with Pellegrini talking him up recently. Turkey? Doubt it! It’s big money for a club struggling along in eighth place in the Turkish League and such a move normally means end of career.
