Hammers injury worries

The Hammers have two injury worries as they head into the game against SC Freiburg at London Stadium.

The Hammers trail of course by a single goal – an identical position to two ago against  Sevilla but defeated the Spanish opponents in extra-time through goals from and Andriy Yarmolenko.

However, the Hammers with Emerson working his way back to fitness from the leg injury he suffered in the first-leg defeat at the Stadion am Wolfswinkel we may need to do without him tonight.

“We’ll just need to see how Emerson is, as we’re not sure how he is yet, so that would be probably our main one,” Moyes admitted, when asked if he had any team news to share ahead of Thursday’s tie.

Claret and Hugh was told by a source earlier in the week that the left back may in fact be available but the manager conceded that another member of his squad will definitely be ruled out, however.

However, Moyes added that Maxi Cornet is back at Rush Green at the moment after being away getting some treatment, but won’t t be fit for this game.

West Ham’s starting XI for the win-or-bust round of 16 tie with Freiburg will be confirmed around an hour before kick-off, at about 4.30pm on Thursday, so stay tuned to the Club’s website, app and social media channels for live updates.
