West Ham‘s U21s have learned they will be facing the holders of the trophy when they meet PSV Eindhoven in the Premier League International Cup semi-finals.

Steve Potts side has had a wonderful run to this stage of the competition and have a seriously realistic chance of making the final if beating their Dutch opponents for the first time in its 1o year history.

So far in the competition the under 21s have beaten Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 in the quarter-finals, after progressing from Group B following group-stage wins over Valencia, Celtic, and GNK Dinamo Zagreb.

PSV, meanwhile, finished second in Group A before coming from behind to win 2-1 at Chelsea in the last-eight to set up a semi-final clash with the Hammers.

The Eindhoven side defeated Crystal Palace after extra-time in last season’s final to win the tournament for the first time.

A date for the semi-final tie will be confirmed in due course.
