How we rated the Irons at Goodison

|

Hughie hands out his marks

Fabianski: How do you mark a guy who barely had a touch Good to see him delivering the ball quicker from the back and nothing to criticise 6

Johnson: Outstanding performance, Defended really well and got forward at every opportunity. Well done young man 8

Ben Johnson – great display

Zouma: He brings a feeling of real security – always composed and assured 8

Oggy: Lost Gray for the first serious Everton chance, made a couple of great blocks – notably towards the end – and headed home a fine goal. 8

Cresswell: Defended really well at times when required and always producing decent crosses 8

Rice: What a player. What further words are there to describe him – brilliant in midfield again 9

Soucek: Off towards the end with an injury under the eye but prior to that very affective alongside the skipper 7

Benrahma: It wasn’t really his day. Lots of the usual decent footwork but a couple or three wasted shots on goal. Similar to his earlier games for us 6

Fornals: Always on the move looking for space – no complaints at all 7

Bowen: Another good game from the midfielder – always on the move and threatening 7

Antonio: Loads of hustle and bustle – a proper handful – and had one superbly goal-bound goal well blocked. 7+

Subs: Dawson, Lanzimni, Yarmolenko No ratings
