Hugill scores on debut

Jordan Hugill made the perfect start to life at Queens Park Rangers, scoring on his debut as the R’s recorded a 2-1 victory at Stoke City.  Hugill opened the scoring, knocking into an empty net after Bright Osayi-Samuel beat Jack Butland to a ball in the right channel and served up an unmissable chance.

Eberechi Eze doubled the visitors’ lead, meaning Sam Clucas’ 78th-minute response was nothing more than a consolation.

Hugill joined QPR on a season-long along with the West London club paying 60% of his £33,000 weekly wages and the Hammers subsidising the remaining £13,000 per week.
