I wanted to rejoin Hammers in January says Arnautovic

Former Hammer Marko Arnautovic claims he wanted to return to West Ham in January, but the Corona crisis put any stop to that happening as reported by the German media.

The 31-year-old forward has not played since scoring in a 3-0 win for Shanghai SIPG over Buriram United back in January –

The striker is still under contract with the Chinese club Shanghai SIPG but is back is Austria where he launched his own Gin brand.

“My time in England shaped me,” he said to Kurier when asked why he launched a £30 bottle of gin rather than beer, wine or vodka.

Arnautovic launched his new brand in the rooftop bar of the Hotel Grand Ferdinand on Vienna’s Ringstrasse

The striker spent four weeks in quarantine in Dubai then four weeks in Germany and is now working with a personal trainer in Austria while he waits on if and when he can get a visa to go back to China.

“Many people’s eyes have been opened this,” he said of the pandemic.

“You should appreciate what you have all the more. I have seen how important the family is.

“And what’s currently happening in the United States is sad. No, 2020 is not the best year yet. The highlight is my gin.”

  1. i don’t see the bit where he says he wanted to rejoin. the article heading should be “snake makes gin”

  2. I wouldn’t give that bloke the time of day now.
I hope he enjoys his gin, maybe he can take a few bottles back to China when he returns, it might be good for disinfecting the changing rooms.
