Even minor knocks that affect the side’s two main centre backs, for example, would see teenager Airidas Golambeckis called into emergency first team action, such is the paucity of choice available to Nuno Espírito Santo.
Similar problems – caused by the club’s own sale of their one left sided winger- now affect Nuno’s attacking options, having green lit the Summerville sale and as yet failing to bring in a replacement.
Other than loan – to – permanent signing Keiber Lamadrid in the summer, the Hammers have nobody to create chances from the left.

Which means the Hammers will start August without a left-sided forward. Academy star – and the only available left sided forward at the moment – Josh Ajala might be in for the season of his life but without a senior player coming in, the Hammers’ position as bookies’ favourites might seem a tad unjustified.
