Irons prestige friendly opponents may be obvious

|

It would be no surprise were Slavia Prague to provide the opposition for the Irons prestige pre-season friendly at the London Stadium on August 8.

We revealed last night that the club – whilst still refusing to give the name – has made it clear to us that the match will pitch the Irons against a Champions league qualifying outfit.

Most will immediately think in terms of La Liga,  Serie A, the Bundesliga or Ligue 1 in France but Sparta Prague would be a decent bet were a book were available for such a bet as first mentioned on the CandH website forum by West Ham Fan No 32.

The club – of course – has an outstanding relationship with the club and the Czech ambassador in London and it seem a pretty realistic possibility.

The Hammers will be looking in that direction too for possible summer signings as they look for a striker and central defender.

The club continue to keep the club’s name a closely guarded secret and an announcement in’t expected imminently but the smart money would probably be on the Czech outfit.
