Jack Wilshere could be out of action for up to six weeks after learning that he goes into hospital tomorrow for more ankle surgery.
ClaretandHugh learned a few minutes ago that the midfielder looks set for a lengthy lay off as his history of surgery continues.
A source told us: “I’m afraid it’s bad news and he could be out for six weeks after surgery.”
The former Gooner has had persistent problems with ankle injuries but the report that he could be back in six weeks is far better than the original 12 weeks which were expected at one stage.
He felt a problem last week in training and as a result was ruled out of the match at Goodison Park victory yesterday.
Now he looks set for a tough battle to make an immediate first team return should the team continue on the sort of roll which may well have started yesterday.
Great . Hope Carrol stays fit or there will be fight for the sick blanket . It was always going to happen so why didn’t we make him a pay for play contract . No loss anyway .
