It’s Lawro time – here’s his prediction

Ok, it’s that time of the week again – Lawro time!

Don’t ask us why we keep harping back to the old lad on a Friday but it’s become part of a ritual we find very hard to drop.

He really is a bloke it’s hard to ignore and that actually speaks well of him …same old story, if nobody is taking any notice of you then you aren’t doing your job properly.

Anyway here we go again and this week the former Liverpool  player reckons the Irons fans will finish Saturday on a high which is badly needed.

That may not go down well with some who reckon any decent prediction from him on our behalf represents nothing more than the kiss of death.

But given the situation surrounding Steve Bruce’s team right now it would be a brave mean who would predict a Hammers defeat  and he is clearly in no mood to do so.

Here are his thoughts:

“Just when I thought West Ham were about to push on, they started a run that has brought only two points from their past four matches,” said Lawrenson to BBC Sport.

“But while the Hammers are still horribly inconsistent, at least we know what to expect from Newcastle – they will come to London Stadium and try to park the bus.

“Steve Bruce’s side cannot really do anything else, because they offer such little threat going forward – which is why I am backing West Ham, despite their poor form.”

West Ham find themselves at 10th in the Premier League table with 13 points on board from 10 games. Newcastle, on the other hand, are 17th in the league, with only nine points from 10 matches.

Lawro’s Prediction 2-1
