Johnson/Cresswell can provide a solution

|

ClaretandHugh Facebook follower Steve Paxman has promoted what seems a very good idea as the team continues to struggle in the absence of a natural left winger with Mike Antonio playing centre forward.

David Moyes reverted to using Arthur Masuaku down that side in the last game at Spurs – which clearly didn’t work – with the player being subbed at half time.

Steve, meanwhile, reckons the manager has the answer to the problem right under his nose although it will need Vladi Coufal to return before it can be put into practice.

He believes that Ben Johnson defends well on both sides but may bot be the natural left sided wing back the club are looking for and that he could be used in a defensive left back role with Aaron in front of him in the wing back role.

Given that most of our effective attacking down that side has come from Cress it seems a bright plan given too that – unlike Masuaku – the long serving Hammer is strong defensively and can come back to help the 22 year old.
