There’s no way back after falling out with three successive West Ham managers. Somewhat counter intuitively, despite having an attitude that shrieks ‘trouble maker,’ it seems Jean Clair Todibo is likely to get his exit from West Ham this summer as one of his long term admirers is likely to ignore Todibo’s disciplinary record and intervene to take the defender to Serie A.
Cue massive relief all around Rush Green as the player who seemingly could pick fight in an empty room gets his wish and moves on.
At the time of his transfer to West Ham, Todibo was a target for Juventus but a move broke down on ‘personal terms’ allowing Tim Steidten the opportunity to scoop up the defender and whisk him to London in what was seen as a West Ham coup at the time.

Some coup. If only Todibo could get his head down and just play football, you’d sense there’s a really good defender in there somewhere.
As reported by football-italia.net, that same Juve connection is likely to help Todibo make his escape from West Ham this transfer window after the Frenchman decreed he’d never play for Nuno’s West Ham again:
“Napoli and Olympique Marseille have been mentioned so far, but (Sportitalia pundit Pedullà) notes that Atalanta are preparing to push for the centre-back.
This goes way back to when West Ham first secured Todibo from OGC Nice in 2024, on loan with an obligation to buy for a total €40m.
The Juve director who held those talks was Cristiano Giuntoli, who has taken over as the Atalanta director of sport this summer.”
A permanent sale to Atalanta, if it materialises, will probably be one of West Ham United’s more popular sales this summer window and recouping even part of the £34 million the club forked out for his signature last summer will see huge sighs of relief all around as another of the failed 2024 transfers is put to bed once and for all.
