Looking far more relaxed than last time we saw West Ham’s manager attend the traditional pre-game conference, Nuno Espritio Santo spoke of being ready for the fight ahead as his side are named pre-season frontrunners in the Championship campaign to come: A different challenge for the Portuguese coach to deal with after being stuck at the bottom of the Premier League for most of last season.
However, Nuno’s message to his West Ham board was very, very clear as he virtually demanded more players incoming into his squad which will be patched up with youngsters for tomorrow’s cup game.
“Asked about the club’s ongoing recruitment business, Nuno made it plain:
“We don’t have much time, but we don’t want to make mistakes. It’s crucial the players who come in are right, so we are taking our time to make sure we get it right.

Koppen’s credibility on the line with only one free signing this summer
We identify targets, we know the profiles and names, so we let the club do their jobs.”
When asked about specific targets: “Nils knows exactly the positions we have to strengthen and we are working every day. But for the respect of the boys we have here and are working every day, I am not speaking about any players.” (whufc.com)
“Taking our time”: You can say that again, Nuno.
With unfinished business still on at least three fronts with transfers seemingly going nowhere fast for Arne Engels, Manor Solomon and Troy Parrott, West Ham’s head of recruitment Nils Koppen has his credibility on the line as the Championship kicks off next weekend and the Irons have only one free agent to bolster their depleted ranks and an equation that reads, so far, nine out, only one in. .
thanks for this
Why are there no posts about Dele Alli who is training with us ? If he could return to anything close to his previous form he could solve the number 10 position for us.
Anyone would think that Sullivan/Brady were still in charge.
