Kouyate frustrated not to play in Champions league

|

sentoffkouyateCheikhou Kouyate has told Senegal media he was frustrated not to qualify for the Champions League with West Ham. The twenty six year-old Hammer is currently back in Senegal with his parents during the month of Ramadan.

www.senenews.com asked Kouyate “Is it frustrating not to play the Champions League?”

Kouyate said “It’s true that it’s frustrating. But we have to look at ourselves. We did not play all our games as we should. When we play against the big guns, the concentration was up because we did not want to lose. But it was the teams that had the same level that we or were bottom of the table, that we underestimated. It was a great lesson for us. In football, we must not take the opponents lightly regardless of their status. We could have qualified for the Champions League. We must change our mentality. Fortunately we have a good coach in Slaven Bilic, who is working on that.”

Just hope he is happy at our club and not hinting he wants out,
My player of the year 2 years running and hope Sak listens to him

His assessment is a good one but also the ref’s were largely to blame for us not playing in the CL or even being straight in the group stages of Europa. As for persuading Sak we may not have a choice and might still have Enner and Sak at the start of next season the way our current striker hunt seems to be going. Lets hope something changes and we get an upgrade but I am not holding my breath.

Top player, top man, one of my favourites. Dimi, Kouyate, Antonio, Cresswell are the untouchables IMHO 😉

  • bubs says:

Matte Lanzini as well he is the future when Dimitri hangs up his boots Lanzini will be the new Messi,
Just hope he is in our colours,
Obiang will have a big season as well if given the chance now Norveld has arrived,
Our other new boy could have the same impact as well with his speed,
Just need that clinical finishing Antonio,Lanzini and Dimitri have it

I agree bubs, Lanzini is a top player…And the incredible thing is that we spent a total of around £19 mil. on Lanzini and Payet… and after a year, they’re worth at least £90/100 mil. 😉
