The early days of West Ham United’s new-look boardroom have certainly kicked off a new era of supporter engagement, judging from the response to the consultation announced regarding the club crest.

Fans now feel the club is being run without the latent hostility that existed in the Sullivan – Brady era, the heritage of the proud club now being considered rather than steamrollered.

Away from the spotlight, too, there are equally important but less public signs that the board are winning over the doubters still reeling from the Sullivan allegations.

As reported by the dailymail.com:

“West Ham handed huge boost as major sponsor stands by club in wake of relegation and David Sullivan quitting:

Bookmaker BOYLE Sports will continue its shirt sponsorship with West Ham United – in a major boost for the turmoiled club The Irish bookie is to stand by the Hammers following their relegation to the Championship and the publishing of a host of serious allegations of sexual misconduct against co-owner David Sullivan.

BOYLE Sports had been on the front of West Ham’s shirts last season, in a multi-year deal worth millions.”

Which is a huge shot in the arm for West Ham’s boardroom and new leadership.

How the news was broken two weeks ago: Boyle Sports’ were “extremely concerned” .

In the wake of Sullivan’s hasty resignation and those allegations, Boyle Sports had proclaimed themselves ‘extremely concerned’ about their relationship with West Ham United.

It is testimony to Kretinsky and Gold’s swift action to distance themselves and the football club from Sullivan that the main shirt front sponsor has not dropped the club deeper in the financial mire, and an indication that commercially at least, calmer waters may lie ahead under this leadership.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Sounds like our ambition is to stay in the Championship so that we can retain shirt sponsorship money from a betting firm.

    Integrity at its best.

So in a way relegation has helped Boyle as had we survived their shirt sponsorship would have ended 😊⚒️⚒️

That does sound like recognition of change and a new direction taken at WHU. It is reassuring to get the nod like that and management must of course being negotiating with them and pulled it off. That too is encouraging.
