Kudus deal has stalled

|

It has been reported that the Irons have submitted yet another bid for the Rennes winger, Jérémy Doku, but we are not having much luck agreeing a fee with Ajax for Mohammed Kudus.

Personal terms have been agreed with Kudus ,but Ajax are holding out for £44m for the Ghanaian , who has had interest from Arsenal, Brighton and Chelsea, and West Ham are reluctant to pay over £41m.

Fair play to them, as he is a good player – but £41m?

Kudus deal has stalled

So unless there can be some leeway, it is probably not going to happen

We are still looking for attacking reinforcements and are trying to beat Manchester City to the signing of Doku. The Citizens see Doku, a 21-year-old Belgium international, as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez following the Algerian winger’s move to Saudi Arabia. West Ham hope they can tempt Doku, , by offering the youngster regular first-team football.

Hopefully this week we will be able to unveil our new £17m signing , the Greek centre-back Konstantinos Mavrapanos from Stuttgart, which will help shore up our back line.

I am not sure Mavropanos will be a starter to be fair, he is likely cover for Zouma am guessing will maybe play the European games alongside Ogbonna ?

With Kudus supposedly Brighton agreed a £35m fee for him, so what has changed, I suspect it’s our usual Tottenham-esque lowballing strategy.

If the player wants to come and if Rice is £100m then Kudus is a £50m player, he is a player that is already at a very high level and improving, he can also cover the striker position and carry the ball upfield like Rice used too and Antonio does which in a Moyes side is important and can’t be done by Soucek and JWP, if it costs £50m pay it because he answers a few problems and also gives us cover for Paqueta who one way or another we are likely to lose, lets hope it’s not like Toney. The other position we should be looking to fill is left back, we need a defender if we are playing with a low block as per yesterday’s performance, it was quite easy for Chelsea to find space in behind Emerson and Coufal even though they both defended bravely and were well supported, at some point and we will probably see that more this weekend at Brighton teams will find the right passes or just get lucky through volume of crosses to unlock it. We may have won 3 – 1 but it was against the run of play and that was a home game, very proud of that but we need to be better in possession so having players that can hold onto the ball for longer to resist the press and counter it are essential COYI !!!

What do you mean fair play , leave it out , if we want to compete and have the best players we need to pay the money . Kudus is a.real talent , we would probably at least double our money if we sell in a few years. Not that I want that as want the talent and a successful team . Success also generates fund so I don’t agree . We need to spend we have the funds let’s not be short sighted . I will be fuming if we don’t pull this off !

Obviously an element of brinksmanship, but if we’re willing to pay 41m, why would you let him go for the sake of 3m given the money we regularly pee down the drain on woeful transfers. It’s only about half a season of wages ffs. If they think he’s what we need, pay the cash and stop messing around!!!
