Lawrenson gives his Irons Cup verdict

|

It’s the fourth week on the trot Mark Lawrenson is predicting defeat for the Irons and having taken the BBC pundit to task on each occasion and being proved wrong I won’t be giving him any welly this week.

The law of averages says he has to get it wrong at some point and hopefully that will be against Birmingham City tomorrow afternoon.

But for a change this week he does make a bit of sense in putting a qualifier on his prediction declaring that if the Hammers put out a weakened team then he can see a shock may be on the cards.

And he adds on the BBC website: “Garry Monk has done an excellent job at Birmingham and if West Ham put out a weakened team then I would back the Blues.”

Birmingham currently sit eighth in the Championship with nine wins to their name – Lawrenson is right to declare a strong Irons side will be required but regardless of that I’m convinced he doesn’t like us!
