BBCÂ pundit Mark Lawrenson believes West Ham will return to their winning ways by beating Sheffield United 2-0 on Saturday.
The pundit told his BBC website readers “West Ham have had a bit of a dip with their recent results, and they did not play well when they lost to Everton last weekend.
That kind of inconsistency is just what West Ham seem to do, but maybe they won’t do it as many times this season.
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder keeps getting it right, with his latest success being his side’s impressive win over Arsenal on Monday.
The Blades’ away form is very good, but I think this is a tough game for them.
Yes, West Ham are very up and down but when they play well at home, they are a very dangerous side.”
Claret and Hugh say:
The statistics are against us, Sheffield United are one of only two teams unbeaten away from home, the other team being league leaders Liverpool.
The newly-promoted has done very well and will be no pushovers on Saturday afternoon. The pair last met in 2014 in the second round of League cup
On that occasion, the Hammers were knocked out of the Capital One Cup at the Boleyn Ground as League One Sheffield United won on penalties to reach the third round.
Let’s hope West Ham do not make it three defeats in a row and that Lawro is proved right with his confidence in the Hammers, he’s got to right some of the time.
