Nottingham Forest are rivalling West Ham for Jesse Lingard, according to The Guardian.
The England international is said to be poised to make a decision over his future and the Hammers have made an offer to secure his signature on a permanent basis.
The attacking midfielder had an excellent loan spell at the club two years ago and David Moyes has maintained his interest in signing the player.
The Guardian reports that plenty of clubs are being kept abreast of the situation.
Everton are also said to be in the running, while Leicester, Newcastle, and Tottenham are all monitoring developments and Forest are now considering making an offer themselves.
The Irons are also looking to sign a striker and are in talks with Chelsea over a deal for Armando Broja, as David Moyes bids to bring a new striker into his squad this summer.
It remains to be seen who Lingard decides to join.
To be honest the whole storey has become a boring Saga . If he signs he signs if he don’t he don’t . Not really bothered either way now .
Let them have him … stringing us along keeping us waiting as a last resort while he’s waiting for a better offer… im sick to death of hearing about him and Moyes preoccupation with him …
Yeah because forest can afford £180,000 a week
If the media are going to write stories about where Lingard is going…… I wish they’d make them believable. This time next year Nottingham Forest will be preparing for another season back in the Championship. Now if The Guardian had added Aston Villa or Leicester to the supposed list of Everton, Newcastle and Spurs, I’d find the story quite plausible.
Lingard will be a Hammer in the next day or three.
I hope he goes anywhere else but West Ham. He made an effort during his loan spell but only because he was putting himself in the shop window for a lucrative transfer. If we wanted to be a West Ham player he could have been a long time ago. He will go to wherever he gets the most money and then his incentive to make an effort will be over. If that club is West Ham we’ll be stuck with another overpriced prima donna.
