|

Former Hammer Jesse Lingard has confirmed he has tested positive for Coronavirus and will be forced to self isolate for ten days.

This morning the 28-year-old announced on social media Really gutted to have tested positive after a good pre-season, luckily I feel fine and will follow the guidelines and be back with the boys on pitch very soon! Thank you for your support”

Manchester United are due to play Everton today this lunchtime in a pre-season friendly with their first Premier League game on 14th August against Leeds United.
Lingard looks set to miss the start of the Premier League before he can return to full training.
West Ham still holds out a small chance he will change his mind and join the Hammers permanently if he did not feature in the opening games for Manchester United but he will need to regain full fitness just to be avilable for selection for the Red devils.
Manchester United have a total of three Premier League fixtures before the transfer window closes on 31st August.
