Liverpool’s Rotation – Eleven Changes for Carabao Cup

Now this cannot be ‘bad’ news for West Ham United. Liverpool have been in good but- let us not forget – not perfect form this season. A  3-0 victory over Bournemouth and a 3-1 away win at Milan in the Champions League are recent highlights but they lost at home to 0-1 Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on the 14th September.

But with a rush of games in a short space of time, as we’d suggested earlier, Arne Slot is faced with the need to rest players and according to The Liverpool Echo the changes could be wholesale. Which would give West Ham a much needed boost before the trip to Anfield for Wednesday night’s Carling Cup 3rd round clash against the holders.

It seems that Liverpool have made the ‘league cup’ their third priority and if the report is to be believed, would be rotating their squad completely for the match against The Irons!

Goalkeeper Allison is likely to be injured in any case. The report, entitled

‘Liverpool could field an entirely different team against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup’ offers the details:

“Both Joe Gomez and Jaerll Quansah have been waiting patiently for an opportunity at centre-back and would be ready to step in for skipper Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate while at right-back Conor Bradley will be expected to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

On the opposite side of the defence, Kostas Tsimikas will hope for minutes ahead of Andy Robertson.”

The report then details why most of the midfield and front line should be rested, and, in a welcome suggestion, proposes a start for Darwin Nunez, plus “time may have come for summer signing Federico Chiesa to have a first start on the right in place of Salah having stepped off the bench in the last two games.”

So, the possibility of a full eleven changes for Wednesday night must offer hope for an under-pressure West Ham United looking for just their second vict0ry at Anfield in about 200 years. we’ll take everything in our favour at this stage, to be honest- the good news is that we can’t be any worse the team that scratched around painfully with ‘that’ set-up against Chelsea.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Even their youth team could most probably beat us currently. And did you not see the Nunez goal on Saturday?

I suspect all we will see is park the bus and hope to nick it on pens.

At the moment Liverpool could play a women’s 11 against Westham and still win . GOpetegui .
