All Change At The London Stadium
The London Stadium CEO, Graham Gilmore, resigned this week, Claret and Hugh have been told. Gilmore took over from Linda Lennon in 2017 as the stadium chief executive, a role he has held for the past nine years.
Gilmore began his career in West End theatres before gaining stadium experience in senior roles at Leicester City and Fulham FC. He joined London Stadium as Chief Operating Officer in April 2015 before his promotion in 2017.
Gilmore is understood to be retiring, with the London Stadium operations director Darren Raczkowski taking over the top job as interim CEO.
West Ham Senior Director Also Departs
The news comes after another departure of a West Ham senior director called Philippa Cartwright, who is listed on the club website as Projects & Operations Director; she is also a director of West Ham Women.
Cartwright was the project director of the London Stadium and legacy for Newham Council up until 2018, when she joined West Ham, primarily involved with the London Stadium relations and projects.
She remains a director of West Ham Women for now, along with Ticketing Director Nicola Keys, who is due to retire at the end of this season.
It does give an opportunity for a fresh start at the London Stadium from both sides with two new faces.
