West Ham Vice-Chairman Karren Brady has confirmed that there are plans to introduce a fan zone outside the London Stadium in conjunction with stadium pouring partner Heineken.
At the recent West Ham United Supporters Board meeting, minutes confirm that: “Karren Brady confirmed that plans are in place to create a Fanzone, in conjunction with Heineken, which will hopefully encourage more supporters to arrive earlier and ensure a better pre-match atmosphere. Karren Brady added that the plans can be brought to the next WHUSB meeting [in February].”
West Ham and stadium partners are thought to have looked at the Manchester City model of their fan zone. City have a dedicated fan zone called City Square, where supporters can enjoy live entertainment hosted by City Square presenters from two and half hours before kick-off. There are three large screens, a main stage, bars and a family-friendly Café.
Every week they have at least one live up and coming band or musical performance together with comedians and D.J’s.
