Message from joint-chairman ahead of Spurs

|

The joint chairman of West Ham have written to the 3,000 away supporters attending the Spurs away game at their new stadium tomorrow.

The email read: Firstly, we would like to thank you for purchasing a ticket for Saturday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur. The speed at which tickets for this match were snapped up goes to show the anticipation and level of commitment from our loyal supporters. As this is our first trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, please read some important information here.

With 3,000 travelling Hammers packing the away end and giving their backing to Manuel’s side on from the first whistle to the last, it promises to be a special occasion for all and we hope we can come away with a result to remember.

Every one of us at the Club, on the Board and in the stands on Saturday is looking forward to this match and hopeful that we can pick up another London derby victory, following our successes against Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Fulham this season.

You, our loyal West Ham supporters, have played a vital part in these wins, and both Manuel and the players are grateful for your incredible support.

Saturday’s game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is another opportunity to show the passion that makes our fans famous around the world, and to illustrate the effect your support can have on the team throughout the game.

We also must remember that every supporter attending the game is acting as an ambassador for West Ham United and their behaviour should reflect the values and standards of our great Club.

At West Ham United we are truly proud of our support for causes that promote tolerance, inclusion and tackle discrimination in whatever form it takes.

Let us prove on Saturday that there is simply no place in football for abuse, discrimination or bigotry of any form, and ensure that football, and a hopefully a great result for the Hammers, are what people are talking about on Sunday morning.

As at home matches, the Club operate a zero-tolerance policy and will take unequivocal action against anyone who is proven to be in contravention of this.

In the event that you happen to see or hear anything you think is unacceptable on the day, it is important that you report anything of this nature to the relevant authorities to ensure it is investigated fully.

In the first instance, you may choose to speak to the nearest steward or police officer. Alternatively, you can report any inappropriate behaviour anonymously to Tottenham Hotspur’s safety and security team by texting 07537404821, where all information provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

We, and everyone else at West Ham United, are very much looking forward to Saturday’s game and the Claret and Blue Army showing the world what being a football fan is all about – supporting with pride, passion and respect.

Come on you Irons!
