Moyes can become a Hammers legend by Gonzo
I have been as critical of David Moyes as most this season for a multitude of reasons.
Sometimes the football has been shocking as have some of the excuses that accompanied it. It has been a pretty dour Premier League campaign with a paltry 11 wins, yet we find ourselves on the brink of glory.
Whilst many of the summer signings struggled to make an impact in the league, many have flourished in Europe. West Ham spent a whopping £200m this season but value for money was not always evident.
However big games call for gig players and in Lucas Paqueta and Nayef Aguerd have spent big money. I do wonder if the timing of their respective form and recovery from injury could prove pivotal.

Moyes chased Aguerd for two years but was forced to wait to see his dream central defensive partnership. Zouma and Aguerd will be crucial against an attacking Fiorentina side.
What happens in Prague will be the culmination of David Moyes Hammers rebuild. Make no mistake about it . . . this is his team and not an inherited one.
History beacons for Moyes and he knows it. He’ll have felt hard done by with his early Man U dismissal and last years semi final. Moyes is a man of belief, who feels that he should be winning trophies.
If he manages West Ham to their first significant cup since 1980 he’ll be remembered forever. History won’t care that he was a defensive, safety first coach.
He will be know as the man who took the Hammers to European glory and three consecutive campaigns.

On a side note, please may I wish everyone in Prague a safe, fun and unlimitedly victorious experience. I’m immensely proud to be a Hammer today, what a wonderful fanbase we have.
