Much of the news reports in the last 24 hours has been focussed on the developing story regarding El Hadji Malick Diouf’s transfer situation and the bids which seem to be crystallising. Behind the scenes there are a number of players who the club are actively trying to ‘place’ elsewhere – which would free up huge weekly wages.
Cornet, Fullkrug and Wan Bissaka are all expected to leave, but as the window wears on it seems there are few suitors at Hammers’ prices.
Welcome news, though, appears to be developing for at least one of the trio: ExWHUEmployee’s latest update offers the real chance of an escape route which will suit West Ham as much as the player.
Wan Bissaka now a firm favourite with David Moyes
The Hammers have already signed their replacement for Aaron Wan Bissaka, free agent Joel Veltman who will cover Kyle Walker Peters’ right back position, leaving the unwanted Wan Bissaka to head back to the Premier League after a pretty spectacular fall from grace: Just one year ago ‘AWB’ received the Hammer of the Year award but has looked a shadow of that player this year.
Nuno seemed unimpressed with Wan Bissaka’s extended absence during the height of the relegation battle, after DR Congo’s World Cup qualification, and the two don’t appear to have patched things up. According to Ex:
““At present, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is likely to move to Everton or Aston Villa, although there are some clubs abroad who are showing some interest.”
A David Moyes swoop for Wan Bissaaka seems most likely, meaning the former Hammers boss could yet do his old club and the player a favour in this summer’s window, in a transfer that would surely suit all parties.
Can’t help feeling there’s still much more to come from “AWB” – more a bad mix with Nuno’s uncompromising style which has led to his slide down the pecking order at West Ham.

Another angle is that it’s time for Nuno to go. Has been the last of a long list of disastrous managerial signings. Going up under Nuno is not impossible, but staying there with him at the helm will be very difficult. So many poor managerial decisions during games, dodgy tactics and substitutions, but worst of all appears to have zero man management skills – holding a grudge against AWB because the dictator running his country banned members of the national team to leave DRC during the AfCon celebrations is a classic example.
Despite all the departures the squad is still strong for the Championship, but we are in desperate need of a left back as Scarles is not good enough even for the Championship.
Unfortunately the other angle is that AWB is another left back cover going, leaving us hoping Scarles can stay in form and avoid injury
