Moyes takes credit for Iron’s massive improvement

|

Spurs tomorrow (Sun) and thoughts immediately turn towards that extraordinary Manu Lanzini goal last season – a rocket shot to save a point so near the end.

That was remarkable by any standards and more of the same tomorrow without Spurs getting a look in would be precisely what the doctor ordered.

Manu has been a revelation this season and for that we can thank manager David Moyes who never lost faith in the player even when he was going through a long period out of form.

Despite many believing he would perhaps be sold such was his form the manager claimed that had never entered his head.

Instead he was clearly working on his game and has radically changed the Argentine’s approach having made him an all round team player rather than simply an occasional creative force.

As a result he has made 34 appearances this season for six goals although sadly he will be ruled out of the next Euro League game against Lyon after receiving a yellow card against Seville in the first leg.

But he could well be key to things against Spurs and in the meantime well done Moyesie for bringing him back to far better than many expected.
