Hammers looking good ahead of Gent

|

Going into our first leg tie against Gent tomorrow we have two players who are currently one yellow card away from a suspension with both Divin Mubama and Angelo Ogbonna on a tightrope, as both are on two yellow cards.

UEFA hand out one-match bans for players booked three times prior to the completion of the quarter-finals.

Because of the UEFA’s somewhat inconsistent suspension laws, midfielder Flynn Downes missed last month’s second leg win over Larnaca, having got his third European booking in the first leg.

Players can only be banned for three or five bookings from between the start of the group stages and the end of the quarter-finals. So poor old Flynn (if picked) better be careful as he could get another suspension for five yellows, if booked in both legs against Gent this month.

Europa Conference League yellow cards (not including play-off qualifying round) –

Flynn Downes – 3

Angelo Ogbonna and Divin Mubama – 2

Manuel Lanzini, Thilo Kehrer, Vladimir Coufal, Emerson, Gianluca Scamacca, Conor Coventry, Aaron Cresswell, Tomas Soucek, Lucas Paqueta, Ben Johnson, Maxwel Cornet, Nayef Aguerd and Ollie Scarles – 1
