New hope that Hammer can be sold

|

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini and West Ham had some good news from the north east as they bid to raise funds from a possible Jordan Hugill sale.

After blotting his copybook with boss Tony Pulis in the  game against Stoke by “going down to easily ” (that’s manager talk for diving) he was on top of his game against Wigan yesterday.

The man whom David Moyes  chose to pay £10 million for – and then barely used him – scored his first goals in the 2-0 victory which came as a relief to everybody associated with both clubs no doubt.

That the first goal came from the penalty spot is immaterial – goals are goals and at least the bloke had the courage to step up for it on the back of a barren goal record.

It’s easy to argue that he was given little chance at the Hammers and Pulis has been using his lack of activity as the major reason for his poor form.

That’s a fair enough excuse but at last we are getting the glimmer of a hope that some funds may come our way for an inexplicable signing.

Pulis commented: “I was really pleased that Jordan got the two goals. What people have missed, and I’ve said it before, is that the lad went from Preston to West Ham and was never involved in any football at all in the Premier League.

“Then in pre-season, he got an injury, so he hasn’t really done anything for six months. “He came here really cold, his fitness levels were nowhere near those of the rest of the group, but he’s worked really hard and in the last few games, we’ve seen some good signs.”

Fingers crossed!
