No early departure for Hammer

West Ham are set to accept the reality that Jack Wilshere will be with the club for another season – the last on his contract.

After reports emerged that the club want the midfielder off the books – preferably via a permanent move away – it’s clear both that  and a loan deal is highly unlikely based on his appearance record since joining the club.

He has still only made 18 appearances in two seasons and was unused again as the Hammers survived relegation last season.

Even were he to get a loan move, the club would be left to pay anything up to 70 per ccent of his £100k or £1.2 million wages.

Ideally – under more normal circumstances – the club might be ready to make him an offer in a bid to reach a mutual agreement on his departure.

But there is little chance the player would find that acceptable even were the club to be ready to offer such a deal.

However, ClaretandHugh understands that option has been ruled out by the club.

Who would pay him £100,000 per week? Maybe someone like Hugh, who thinks it equates to £1.2m per year!!

  • GaryD says:

We are going to pay him, so play him.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

100k is £5.2m wages not £1.2m, paying most of the wages is fine if we move him on and get someone else in.

The MLS isn’t the hardest league in the world, maybe he could spend the rest of his contract on loan or a permanent move to the US.
I wonder if David Beckham needs a creative midfielder?
In hindsight, Pellegrini’s signings of Roberto, Sanchez and Wilshere (to name a few), cannot have been an accident for a manager of his experience and supposed knowledge? Could he have been trying to sink this club?
I wonder if brown paper bags were involved in these deals?
    So many questions?

HammerPete the answer to.your question is only DS ..DG.. would be in your “mug” frame..and Pellergrini is in Spain somewhere ease tell.. jack .Arthur. felipie Hugill Lanzini Cressie and a lot more are available ..albeit not all.his signings. ..and not forgetting Roberto. Of course .how could we …

Who would be mug enough to sign him on 100 grand a week and a permanent sick note? Has Pelle got a new club?!!!

Was he really a Pelle signing??

At the time, signing Wilshire was seen a good deal, given his talent, potential and desire to play for his boyhood and family team?

I remain of the belief that West Hams squad is loaded with premiership quality and the managers and coaches have to manage and coach this squad into a top performing side.

Losing one of the expensive ‘attacking’ players wouldn’t hurt the squad and may encourage the reserves/youngsters into the 1st team.
