Now Dimi seriously compared to Zidane

|

payet3Leading French daily L’Equipe has paid Dimi Payet the ultimate compliment by comparing the brilliant Irons midfield ace with Zinedine Zidane.

The ‘paper having made the case said: ‘When you score one, then two, then three, the crowd expect that you score every time.’

Dimi may now be the most-feared deadball specialist from any nation going to Euro 2016 and grabbed another beauty for his country in their most recent friendly against Cameroon.

11937_heroaHe has now scored 14 goals for France and West Ham this term, with six coming directly from free-kicks.

And a feeature in the Mail says: “The average speed of those free-kicks is 53.6mph with his fastest recorded (62.9mph) coming against Russia in March’s 4-2 friendly win.”

France, who qualified for Euro 2016 as the host nation, begin the tournament proper against Romania in Paris on June 10.

Didier Deschamps’ side are being touted as strong favourites for the competition and will play further group-stage games against Albania and Switzerland.
