Manor Solomon completed 73 minutes of Israel’s 3-1 Nations League defeat against Austria last night, and from a West Ham perspective that was probably the best news to emerge from the game.
The Hammers winger started in Linz but had already been substituted by the time Austria scored twice during the closing stages against ten-man Israel.
Solomon appeared to come through the game unscathed.

West Ham will remain nervous
I’m absolutely delighted to see Solomon come through the first of Israel’s four matches in 11 days without picking up an injury. I’m probably even more delighted that he only played 73 minutes.
Given his injury record, there will always be a concern when Solomon goes away with Israel that he will pick up a knock and return directly to the West Ham treatment room.
He has become far too important to Nuno Espírito Santo for us to lose him at this point.
Israel face the Republic of Ireland on Sunday, so hopefully his country will be careful how his appearances are managed throughout the remaining fixtures.
The worry is that Manor Solomon could return absolutely knackered
There is another concern beyond injury.
As Claret & Hugh exclusively revealed, Nuno has given West Ham’s players some much-needed time off following a gruelling opening to the season.
Those who remained behind will have an opportunity to rest before returning for a behind-closed-doors friendly next week.
Solomon receives no such luxury. Even if he avoids injury throughout this international window, there is every possibility he returns to Rush Green absolutely knackered.
West Ham need him fit, but they also need him fresh.
