One of the thorns in West Ham’s side has finally been dealt with after a two-month long challenge to find a home for the major ‘want-away’ who vowed he’d never play again for Nuno.
Of course, the problem is that Jean-Clair Todibo has become known as a trouble maker after falling out with all three of his Hammers bosses, Lopetegui and Potter not being spared the Frenchman’s ire. Which makes it hard to find him a home despite his undoubted ability on the pitch.
Finally a move away from London Stadium for Todibo has been confirmed today with West Ham ‘agreeing a loan without a purchase option’ which would certainly not have been the club’s first choice.

Journalist claims a straight dry loan with no option
What is apparent is that the player finally took a wage cut to facilitate the move and that he’s already in Lens undergoing a medical.
Olympic Marseille had wanted Todibo, but lacked the financial headroom to make a deal possible, allowing Ligue 1 Lens to nip in and agree a season-long loan. Champions League football for Todibo this season then. Lucky boy.
At least one of West Ham’s main objectives of this window has been met and the disruptive influence that Todibo had become is now away from the dressing room for the season.
Unfortunately, Todibo signed a five year contract in June of 2025 which means he’ll be back again next summer, looking as if he’ll likely emulate unwanted winger Maxwel Cornet’s endless loan – return – loan Hammers career. At least he’s someone else’s problem for the season.
Well said Steve. I totally agree.
Why an earth we paid that much for an entirely average player, God only knows.
It’s a real shame he’s such an arse because he is our best CB
Not quiet his biggest headache much more is recognising a winnin formula.
Good riddance worst professional ever!
I take on board why anyone would say that about Tobido, but I was at the Chelsea game Nuno threw away, and it was Tobido who went in to defend his teammate when the Chelsea thugs attacked him.
If that hadnt happened, Tobido would have been Disasi’s partner in defence, and just madybe the club’s player of the season instead of Dinos.
Totally agree. We have Nuno’s absolute must have signing for ensuring that didn’t happen.
Within a week or two, Nuno will be gone and the next manager could have done with this guy
