Angelo Ogbonna has been there and done it when the London Stadium atmosphere among the fanbase becomes toxic.

And the 34 year old who with Jarrod Bowen – always tells it as it is knows that things among the fans he knows so well are reaching a very difficult level.

The Italian central defender has made a remarkable recovery from injury and even though now well into his thirties could land a new deal at the club

Now he has spoken to the Daily Mail about the Hammers’ terrible season so far and he has made a point of discussing the toxicity which surrounds the club.

He was there during the really unpleasant period three years ago when protest followed protest as the club was threatened with relegation

He said: “I remember three years ago at this moment, the atmosphere was even more toxic. But even though we are in kind of the same situation, the atmosphere is more positive than it was.”

With seriously tough games against the likes of Arsenal today,  Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City plus the quickly improving Bournemouth on our agenda coming up who knows how bad things can get!
