Pellegrini makes three changes

Manuel Pellegrini has announced his starting line up at Old Trafford and there are three changes from the side that lost against Chelsea.

Fabianski,  Pablo Zabaleta,  Angelo Ogbonna, Fabian Balbuena, Arthur Masuaku, Declan Rice, Mark Noble, Robert Snodgrass, Manuel Lanzini, Felipe Anderson, Javier Hernandez.

Subs: Adrian, Issa Diop, Ryan Fredericks, Pedro Obaing, Grady Diangana, Nathan Holland and Michail Antonnio

West Ham could claim a league double against Manchester United for the first time since the 2006-07 season.

The Hammers have only lost two of the past eight league meetings (W2, D4).

However, United are unbeaten in the last 10 meetings at Old Trafford, winning eight and drawing two.

Manchester United have lost four of their past five matches in all competitions.

They could lose three consecutive league and cup fixtures for the first time since September 2016.

The Red Devils have not kept a clean sheet for eight games in all competitions – their longest run since a 10-match sequence in 2012.

Romelu Lukaku has scored in five successive home appearances against West Ham in the Premier League.

The Hammers are winless in seven league away games, losing six and scoring just one goal.

West Ham have kept just five Premier League clean sheets this season – only Fulham have recorded fewer.

Lukasz Fabianski has made a Premier League-high 134 saves this season, 21 more than nearest rival David de Gea prior to the weekend.

  1. Masuaku in at left back??
Surely makes sense to play Diop as an extra centre back and have masuaku as wing back/midfield where he can do less damage…..?

  2. Mr Toxic not well, is he feeling sick collecting those extra wages at the expense of the paying public.

  3. Arnie seems to be getting ‘ill’ a lot lately wonder if he really is or if just behind scene issues.
Out of our CFs I’d rather Chicharito play bc he has been the best of the lot but need Arnie to score or look decent for chance at even getting our money back in move. And how he has been now he def still wants move & best for all should of taken £35m in Jan.
*Happy to see Holland on Bench tho I’d rather see Johnson given another chance at LB then Masuaku tbh. He faired alright last game.

Another reason we need some more left footed defenders. Think we should look at Mario Hermoso not as tall as Maripan but LB cover & well rounded quick passing CB only 23

  4. It is hard to get excited with players like Noble, Snodgrass and Hernandez continually getting selected despite poor displays. Why not put Antonio up top, why not play 3 at the back and bring in Diop instead of watching the same players under perform week in week out. I fear for us today with a very poor team selection imo.

  5. Fredericks a championship player playing in the PL. How many more times does Pelle need to watch him – he has ruined a great team effort. Not a PL player, never will be a PL player.
