Recovering Yarmolenko meets with fans

|

Injured Hammer Andriy Yarmolenko met with West Ham supporters at the London Stadium mega store this afternoon.

Yarmolenko ruptured his Achilles and immediately underwent surgery last month and is forecast to be out of action for around six months.

BUt he joined Connor Coventry this afternoon to meet with fans and sign autographs and have photos taken with those who queued to see him.

The club released a video before the public appearance with Yarmolenko saying “Hello West Ham fans I am excited to see you on Sunday”

The Ukrainian has demonstrated he hasn’t lost his sense of humour despite his devastating injury. Earlier this week he was filmed by Declan Rice asking “How are you Squarehead?@ Declan asks “I am good Skinhead” Yarmolenko replies as pushes Declan away laughing.

Yarmolenko picked up the nickname of ‘squarehead’ after he famously missed an easy header in front of goal for the Hammers before his injury.
