Former Chelsea striker Costa has been strongly linked with a return to England after ripping up his contract at Atletico Madrid. Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, Wolves and West ham have all been linked with interest in the free agent.
The 32 -year-old striker endured a difficult time at Atletico after rejoining the La Liga leaders from Chelsea two years ago and made just three substitute appearances since mid-October.
Injuries and competition for places hampered Costa, who scored 52 goals in 89 Premier League appearances for Chelsea between 2014 and 2017.
Reports suggest that the Brazilian colossus, who is actually capped 24 times by Spain, was earning around €120k-per-week (£108,000-per-week) at Los Rojiblancos, but he is now free to join any club.
He may not fit the age profile of the kind of player David Moyes wanted but he has certainly proved he knows where the goal is in the Premier League and probably won’t be short of offers.
Hopefully, we aren’t in for him.
He is the exact “Opposite” type of player that we should be interested in, going forward.
He is a real striker. No defender looks forward to playing against him as he has a nasty streak. Can’t be slower than Haller but may be in trouble with ‘the Eye’ that is VAR.
No more prima donnas please.
