Report: Hammers made contact with Barcelona

|

West Ham have reportedly made contact with Barcelona regarding a potential January move to sign Junior Firpo, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo.

It has been suggested that David Moyes wants to sign a  player who can play in both the left-back and left wing-back positions in January after Arthur Masuaku was forced to undergo knee surgery.

While Ben Johnson filled in that role against Brighton Moyes reverted to a back four again against Southampton.

Firpo came through the ranks at Real Betis before his move to Barca, where he has somewhat struggled to make an impact.

Signed to add competition for Jordi Alba, he has been unable to dislodge the Spain international. The former Real Betis ace can play at left-back and left wing-back. He is a marauding full-back and possess a really potent delivery.

Firpo is athletic, dynamic and has bundles of technical ability and could easily fit into a David Moyes squad.
